Urban Forest Management Plan
B.A. Blackwell & Associates was engaged in January 2022 to create an Urban Forest Management Plan. The overall goal of this plan is to provide direction for the Village of Harrison Hot Springs to manage its urban forest. The Village recognizes that the urban forest is an important asset, and therefore requires a development and management plan. One of the main objectives of this report is to provide recommendations on policy changes and additions in order to create an effective urban forestry program. This plan will also seek to improve the preservation and protection of the Village’s existing trees in order to enhance their health and the community’s enjoyment of them. Finally, this plan will support the enhancement of the urban forest throughout the Village through recommendations for operations and areas to focus new plantings.
