A New Splash Pad is Coming to Harrison Hot Springs!

Harrison Hot Springs is exploring two locations — and we want to know which option you prefer.

A new splash pad is being planned for Harrison Hot Springs as a project identified through the Village’s Resort Development Strategy and funded through the Resort Municipality Initiative (RMI).

The project will bring a new outdoor water-play amenity to the community, but the location has not yet been decided.

The Village is currently exploring two potential locations:

• The Beachfront — a smaller splash pad with a more compact footprint and fewer water features
• Spring Park — a larger splash pad with more space for interactive water features and play opportunities

Which option provides the best fit for our community? We want to hear what matters most to you when considering the location, size and potential features of a new splash pad.

Location Options

Option 1: Beachfront - A smaller splash pad in a highly visible, beachfront location, with a more limited range of water-play features.

A Smaller Splash Pad at the Existing Tots Playground

The beachfront option would use the site of the existing tots playground. The current tots playground (under the shade structure) would be removed to make room for the splash pad.

The available space is more limited, and utility connection considerations and costs would also affect the design. As a result, this option would provide a smaller, more compact splash pad with fewer features.

What could this option include?

• Ground spray features
• One or two additional water features
• A smaller, space-efficient splash pad
• Existing shade features
• A location close to the beachfront and other existing amenities

Option 2: Spring Park - A larger splash pad with more features and play opportunities, located within an existing community park.

A Larger Splash Pad with More Features

The Spring Park option would locate the splash pad north of the existing playground, allowing the playground to remain in place.

The larger available footprint could accommodate a bigger splash pad with more water-play features and opportunities for interactive play.

What could this option include?

• Ground spray features
• Splash or tipping bucket
• Multiple interactive water features
• A larger splash pad area
• More opportunities for creative and varied play
• Potential connections with the existing playground and park

What Are We Asking the Community?

The Village is looking for feedback on which location best meets the community's needs.

We want to know:

• Which location do you prefer?
• Would you choose a smaller splash pad at the beachfront or a larger splash pad with more features at Spring Park?
• What factors are most important to you when making that choice?
• What concerns or opportunities should the Village consider for each location?
• What features would make the splash pad welcoming and accessible for people of different ages and abilities?
• How could the splash pad complement the existing amenities at each location?
