The Fraser Valley Regional District goal is to divert 90% of recyclable waste away from landfills by 2025. We are working hard to meet this target and we need your help!
In an effort to stop recyclable material from going to the landfill, the Village of Harrison Hot Springs will supply all eligible households a one-time promotional mixed-use recycling container and a glass recycling container free of charge.
By working together, we can achieve our goal and greatly reduce the amount of waste going to the landfill. Visit RecycleBC.ca for a complete list of resources that will help you manage your recycling.
WHO DOES THIS IMPACT? This initiative impacts all households who currently receive waste collection service from the Village.
AM I ELIGIBLE FOR FREE CONTAINERS? If you live in a single detached home or duplex, receive waste collection service from the Village and have not yet received free recycling containers, you are eligible.
HOW DO I GET MY CONTAINERS? Free recycling containers are available to be picked up at the Village Office on Friday's or delivered to your residence.
Please complete a Recycling Bin Application form and submit it to the Village Office by email info@harrisonhotsprings.ca or in person at 495 Hot Springs Road.
WHAT IF I MISSED THE APPLICATION DEADLINE? If you submitted your application after the July 31st, containers will be delivered in the month after the application is received.
IS RECYCLING LIMITED TO THIS CONTAINER? No, recycling is unlimited and you may continue to use other containers if needed. Blue bags are not allowed to be used as containers and blue bags should not be put in the recycle bin.
CAN I PURCHASE ADDITIONAL CONTAINERS? If you would like to purchase additional containers please contact the Village office. A limited supply will be available and more will be ordered in 2023.
