What is the Parking Master Plan?

The Village of Harrison Hot Springs has initiated the Parking Master Plan to improve parking operations by optimizing parking regulations and restrictions. The solution will balance the parking needs of all users (residents, businesses, and tourists). The study will:

Address public and stakeholder concerns;
Identify existing parking capacity constraints and project future demand;
Optimize on-street parking regulations and restrictions; and
Consider additional improvements such as, parking wayfinding, electric vehicle parking, and additional accessible and bicycle parking.

The first Public Information meeting was held on September 23, 2021. The slides and minutes from that meeting can be found on the side bar under documents.

    Thank you for the question. The stated off-street parking supply includes the Village owned parking system plus privately owned but publicly accessible parking lots (ex: Milos Lot and Village Mall). Residential driveways, residential garages, and private commercial lots (ex: Harrison Hotel Resort and Spa) are not included as these facilities serve private residents or establishments.

    The on-street parking spaces consist of the pay on-street spaces at the Waterfront plus the estimate of the residential on-street spaces. The residential estimate excludes driveways, intersections, and road segments where parking is not permitted.

    Thank you for your question. Residential parking permits are commonly implemented in municipalities, and will be considered as part of this study.  Please share your ideas with us by taking the Parking Master Plan Survey. https://getintoitharrison.ca/parking-master-plan/survey_tools/2021-parking-master-plan-survey
