Village FireSmart Projects

Following a Critical Infrastructure Assessment and recommendation by the Fire Chief, the coniferous trees located within the buildings Intermediate Zone were removed

Mitigation work was completed in March 2026 which included:

-Replacement of wood siding to a fire resistant material
-Landscaping improvements (removal of conifers in immediate zone and replacement of flammable mulch with FireSmart materials)

Memorial Hall is designated as the Village's Emergency Support Services (ESS) / Reception Site in the event of an emergency.

After a Critical Infrastructure Assessment was completed, the Village's FireSmart team drafted a plan to increase the wildfire resiliency.

This project is estimated to be complete by May of 2026.
